Spatial Data for Community Forests

Context

Community-based forest management depends on maps that communities, NGOs and government can all agree on. Much of this work supported Hutan Desa (village forest) programmes in West Sumatra (Solok, Solok Selatan, Pasaman, Batusangkar), Jambi (Kerinci, Bungo, Merangin, Sarolangun, Tanjung Jabung Timur) and North Kalimantan.

What I did

• Owned the full spatial-data lifecycle: field collection, analysis, modelling and reporting.
• Delivered projects including Community-Based Forest Management, One Map Solution, Micro Spatial Village Planning, Environmental Services, serial land-cover analysis and rapid carbon assessment.
• Built internal web tools for publishing and sharing spatial data with partners.
